When the alarm goes off and it’s still gloomy outside, we simply bring the sun directly to the breakfast table – or even better: to go with SOVAZ in our stylish meal prep container! Our overnight oats “Andalusian Sun” live up to their name. The bright colours of the orange and the golden yellow turmeric look simply fantastic in a transparent container and instantly lift your mood. The best part: This power breakfast prepares itself while you sleep!
Why this breakfast is so good for you: This recipe is a real shield and a constant energy supplier for your day:
Slow carbohydrates: The oats provide you with complex carbohydrates that keep your blood sugar levels stable and keep you full for hours. No more cravings in the morning!
The anti-inflammatory booster: A pinch of turmeric not only adds a great colour but also has strong anti-inflammatory properties. Important: The black pepper in the recipe is no accident! It contains piperine, which ensures that your body can properly absorb the healthy curcumin from the turmeric.
Muscle food: Almonds are wonderful sources of magnesium and help prevent muscle stiffness – ideal as a breakfast after (or before) exercise!
Ingredients (for 2 servings / containers):
100 g oats (fine or coarse, depending on preference)
250 ml milk (for a vegan option, almond or oat drink works perfectly!)
150 g natural yoghurt (or plant-based alternative)
1 tbsp flaxseeds
1 tsp honey (or maple syrup)
1 pinch turmeric & 1 pinch black pepper
1 fresh orange (segmented)
40 g almonds (whole or flaked)
Step-by-step preparation:
The golden base: Add the oats, milk, yoghurt, flaxseeds, honey, turmeric, and black pepper to a bowl and mix everything well.
Into the jar: Now fill the golden yellow oat mixture into your two transparent jars.
Sunny topping: Cut the orange into segments (this way it tastes particularly juicy and without bitterness) and place it on top of the oats along with the almonds.
The magic of the night: Seal the jars tightly with the lid and place them in the fridge overnight (or for at least 4 hours). The oats and flaxseeds will soak up the liquid and become wonderfully creamy.
Our best tips for this recipe:
Shelf life: These overnight oats keep wonderfully in the fridge 2 days. Perfect for preparing the start of the half work week on a Sunday!
Meal prep tip: If you sprinkle the almonds on just before eating, they will stay crunchier.
Bring the holiday moment into your everyday life and start the day deliciously!
