Do you know those mornings when time is once again far too short, but you still don't want to miss out on a healthy and delicious breakfast? Then we have just the thing for you! Our berry-yoghurt layer jar is the perfect protein breakfast. It can be wonderfully prepared the night before (Meal Prep to the max!) and looks like a little work of art when layered in a glass. The best part: it tastes almost like a dessert, but provides you with the perfect energy for the day.
Why this breakfast is so good for you: This layer jar is a real power package! With around 20 g of protein per serving from Greek yoghurt, you optimally support your muscle maintenance and stay full for a long time. The colourful berries are real vitamin bombs and packed with antioxidants. Chia seeds and walnuts also provide valuable omega-3 fatty acids, which are good for your heart and brain.
Ingredients (for 2 servings / jars or glasses):
300 g Greek yoghurt (10% fat – makes it particularly creamy!)
150 g mixed berries (e.g. blueberries and raspberries, fresh or frozen)
2 tbsp chia seeds
40 g walnuts (roughly chopped)
1 tsp honey (or maple syrup)
A pinch of cinnamon

Step-by-step preparation:
Stir the base: Put the Greek yogurt together with the chia seeds in a bowl and mix everything thoroughly. Let the mixture soak for about 10 minutes. (Tip: This is the perfect time to calmly make yourself the first coffee or tea of the day!)
Layer like a pro: Grab two nice jars or mason jars. Start with a generous layer of the chia yogurt. On top, spread half of the berries. Follow with another layer of yogurt.
The topping: Crown your breakfast masterpiece with the roughly chopped walnuts. Finally, add a small dollop of honey on top and dust everything with a pinch of fragrant cinnamon.
Chill & Enjoy: Seal the jars well and place them in the fridge.
Our best tips for this recipe:
Shelf life: You can easily store the layered jars for 2 to 3 days in the fridge So prepare a few jars on Sunday evening for the first workdays!
Crunch factor: If you like your walnuts particularly crunchy, briefly roast them without fat in a pan until they are fragrant.
Frozen berries: Outside of the summer season, you can use frozen berries. They thaw overnight in the fridge and release their delicious juice into the yogurt – a dream!
Enjoy and start the day full of energy!
